Sankalpa

Dear *|FNAME|*,

It gives me great happiness to share with you news and updates on Sankalpa.

Ila and I set up Sankalpa in 1999, as an independent, non-profit charitable trust dedicated to improving the lives of underprivileged communities. Since then, we have adopted and been part of various initiatives involving children’s education, health as well as projects with elderly people.

Over the past two decades, several organisations and individuals have contributed to these causes and it has helped us increase our efforts and reach towards projects close to our hearts and create a sustainable ecosystem of trusted care.

Sankalpa’s Vision

To create a society where every underprivileged individual has access to education, healthcare, and dignified living.

Our Key Objectives

Sankalpa

OUR INITIATIVES

Every initiative reflects our core belief in dignity across all life stages - from nourishing street children to restoring elders' vision, from special needs therapy to digital empowerment. Each program is designed to create sustainable, measurable impact in the communities we serve.

1. Restoring Dignity to Elderly Care

We hold the firm conviction that our elders deserve to spend their twilight years with dignity and comfort. In partnership with Tara Sansthan, Udaipur (www.tarasansthan.org), a renowned NGO specializing in elderly care, we have:

  • Sponsored 200 cataract surgeries, restoring vision and independence to seniors

  • Funded construction of a community hall at their Udaipur campus, creating a space for social connection

  • Established the Uma Rani Goyal School in Ghaziabad, combining our commitment to education with intergenerational support

2. Nourishing Young Minds

Through our collaboration with Punar Jagran Samiti, we address childhood hunger as a barrier to education:

  • Provide nutritious meals to street children attending informal schools across Delhi

  • Have documented increased attendance rates directly linked to our meal program

  • Support holistic development by ensuring children learn on full stomachs

3. Specialized Care for Differently-Abled Children

Our landmark partnership with Continua Kids delivers:

  • 600+ therapies monthly for conditions including autism, cerebral palsy, and Down Syndrome

  • A comprehensive care model featuring:

    • ✓ Physiotherapy for mobility
    • ✓ Occupational therapy for life skills
    • ✓ Speech and music therapies
    • ✓ Innovative aquatic therapy

4. Digital Empowerment & Education

Our multi-pronged education initiatives include

  • Computer Literacy Program (with Genpact India):

    • 10-computer training lab
    • Focus on employable skills for differently-abled youth
We have also contributed towards the education of young Sanskrit scholars at The Gurukul Sanskrit Secondary School.

  • Partnerships with leading educational NGOs:

    • Sahodaya Senior Secondary School
    • Astha India (disability support)
    • Children Education Society
    • Children Care & Literacy Society

Anil sir and Ila Maam Our work at Sankalpa would not be possible without the able and efficient support of our team. While Mr Ravi Dev Gupta is a fellow founder and trustee with Ila and me, our dynamic and committed team comprises of Farida Mistry, a master trainer who empowers women with skills to transform their lives, drawing from her decades of experience with top beauty brands.

Alongside her, Krishna Kumar drives our digital literacy programs, leveraging his expertise in IT solutions to bridge the digital divide.

Our team’s strength lies in its diversity and dedication. Monu Bhatnagar brings two decades of hands-on experience, having grown with Sankalpa from the ground up. Tarun Goyal, our cybersecurity expert, ensures our tech initiatives are secure and scalable, while Shruti Goyal applies her financial acumen to strengthen our community programs. Rounding out the team is Sanjay Aggarwal, whose legal and financial wisdom guides Sankalpa’s sustainable growth. Together, their shared vision and tireless efforts make our mission possible.

The underlying ethos of AKG Group, of which Sankalpa is a part, is “Ubuntu”-the interconnectedness of all people- “I am because we are”. Our donors and contributors are an integral part of that thread of humanity and we are very grateful for their support.

I look forward to adding many more projects and sharing them with you.

Warmly,
Anil
